Cookbooks

Tina over on Violets' Pantry has very kindly just reviewed and posted some recipes from Diana Henry's new cookbook "Cook Simple: effortless cooking every day". As I am a big fan of Diana Henry, and these recipes looked so deliciously tempting, I decided there and then that I really had to add this book to my collection ... thereby bringing my long moratorium on buying new cookbooks to an end, lol. So I logged onto Amazon and did the wicked deed in a flash, not wanting to be enticed by any other interesting titles, but upon completing my purchase saw that Amazon, clever sales people that they are, had put up some thumbnails of other cookbooks that might interest me.

Among other recommendations I noticed Hilaire Walden's "North African Cooking: Exotic Delights from Morocco, Tunisia, Algeria and Egypt" ... for just 5.99 GBP. As one of my favourite cookbooks is her inspirational "The Moroccan Collection" my curiosity was piqued and when I saw there was only one copy available ... well, of course, I had to buy it!

What then really amazed me was to see there were only two used copies of her "The Moroccan Collection" on offer at 69.60 GBP and 70.83 GBP respectively !!!! What is that all about, has this become some kind of cult cookbook?

Only after ordering my books did I remember that somebody had recommended The Book Depository to me and went to check out their site. Instead of the 17.66 GBP I paid for Cook Simple with postage to Spain on Amazon, I could have got it on there for just 12.75 GBP with free postage ... grrrrr, I shall check this site out first in future.

I'm now very excited about the books I have ordered and hope the snail post here will surprise me with a speedy delivery for a change.
